The Hotel Astoria signature restaurant invites you to celebrate the New Year at the legendary city location on St Isaac's Square. Chef François Cantin created festive dinner menu with six courses. Cep and foie gras velouté with winter truffle, Kamchatka crab Olivier salad, salmon balik gravlax, black caviar, sour cream & chives, veal cheek ravioli with light cream sauce & veal jus — this’s a selection of hot and cold appetizers. The main course is your choice of: Pan-fried Atlantic wild seabass, cauliflower puree, pak choi,
black caviar & lemongrass sauce or Black Angus marbled beef fillet Rossini, seared foie gras, braised celeriac & cream, truffle red wine sauce.
The highlight of the festive seasonal menu in Hotel Astoria is a new dessert: Nesselrode. Count Karl Robert von Nesselrode-Ehreshoven is known in Russian history not only as a diplomat, minister of foreign affairs, and confidant of Emperors Alexander I and Nicholas I, but also as a distinguished gourmet. A pudding, soup, and sauce are known under the name Nesselrode in world cookbooks. The Nesselrode dessert is a sphere of delicate chestnut cream and cherry schnapps, with almond sponge cake and thin discs of dark chocolate. Inside is a layer of dried cherries, candied orange peel and raisins marinated in red wine. This delicate and crisp dessert is decorated with meringue and served in handmade glass bowls from the Imperial Porcelain Factory.
On December 31st the welcome cocktail starts at 9:00 PM, dinner at 9:30 PM — and will end no earlier than 2:00 AM in 2026. Unlimited drinks throughout the evening: French sparkling wine Crémant de Bourgogne Brut André Delorme, Italian wines (red Fattoria del Cerro Chianti Colli Senesi from Tuscany and white Pradio Priara Pinot Grigio), Tchaikovsky vodka, soft drinks, tea, and coffee.
Musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by a guest DJ. A professional photographer will take photos to remember your New Year's Eve at Hotel Astoria.
