AFTERNOON TEA AT THE HOTEL ASTORIA
Afternoon tea at the Hotel Astoria is a tradition that has been established at the hotel since its opening in 1912: the first director, Louis Terrier, brought this ceremony to Russia from his native France. Afternoon tea has always been a gesture that upholds the aristocracy inherent in St. Petersburg, its love of the arts of everyday life, and international traditions of hospitality: five o'clock is the must have in the world's most luxurious hotels.
At the Hotel Astoria, a buffet is open daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Rotonda Lounge: canapés, miniature pies and sandwiches, pancakes, and desserts are available without limit. The menu changes daily: the hotel's chef, François Cantin, and pastry chef, Ekaterina Zhelvakova, understand the tastes of their guests and know how to surprise.
From April 30th to May 31st afternoon tea is accompanied by a glass of Bruni Prosecco Valdobbiadene: the sparkling wine is available in both classic and non-alcoholic varieties. Prosecco Valdobbiadene is made from 100% Glera grapes from select vineyards on the hills of the prestigious Conegliano Valdobbiadene area—the official birthplace of the finest Prosecco.
Panoramic views of St. Isaac's Square, live piano and table settings on porcelain with the signature cobalt check pattern elevate Astoria's afternoon tea to the list of charming city rituals. For further information, please contact us by phone +7 812 494 5137.
